National Audit office Press Statement 

The report identifies key strengths in DFID's work. It notes that DFID's approach compares well with those of other like-minded donors and that our approach is flexible and responsive. It acknowledges that we have significantly increased our spending on HIV and AIDS-related work. 

DFID will prepare a detailed response to the issues raised in the NAO report.

Work is already well advanced on a new UK Government Strategy on HIV and AIDS, which will both build on the strengths identified in the NAO report and reflect its recommendations and lessons to be learned.
