Awarded a grant

What happens next once you have been awarded an Action Grant

Being awarded an Action Grant

If you are successful in having your application approved by the Grants Award Panel, you will be sent a formal letter from the British Council Grant Awards Team. The letter will include two copies of a Grant Agreement letter, one copy of which you will need to sign and return to the British Council within 14 days of receipt of the Grant Agreement.

You will also be sent a bank details form which you will need to complete and return to the British Council so that arrangements can be made to pay the first part of the grant, which will be up to 70% of the total grant. The remaining part of the grant will be paid after your grant funded activity has been completed and an Activity Progress and Financial Report has been submitted and approved by the British Council.

Original receipts for any single item purchased of £50.00 and above against the grant should be submitted with the report as the Council will undertake audits of random sample grantees.

Payment of the Action Grant

  • 70% of the total amount awarded will be paid after you receive your grant award letter and on receipt of your bank account details and signed contract
  • 30% of the total will be paid once your Activity Progress and Financial Report has been successfully reconciled and approved by the British Council.
