Available grants

What grants are available? 

Global Community Links contributes funding for up to 100% of project costs for activities that are based in the UK. The grants CANNOT be used for activities in the Link country.

You can apply for a grant of any sum between a minimum of £2,000 and a maximum of £10,000, which has to be spent during the specified activity period for the application round for which you are applying.  These are:

When your grant application is assessed we will be looking for good value for money.

You are strongly advised to read all of the grant application Guidance Notes which clarify what can and cannot be funded, what activity is eligible, and what criteria your planned activity needs to meet.

On the grant application you will need to clearly state what the grant will be spent on. Items of expenditure that are not specific or that are ambiguous, such as 'project management', 'miscellaneous', 'support costs', 'contingency costs' etc will be deemed ineligible, which will mean that your application will not be successful.

You will need to demonstrate that your community group is able to receive, manage and be accountable for any funding awarded, and that you are able to plan and deliver the activities in the UK described in the application.

If your application is successful we will make the payments in two instalments:

• 70% of the total amount awarded will be paid after you receive your grant reward letter, and on receipt of your bank account details and signed contract
• 30% of the total will be paid once your Activity Progress and Financial Report has been successfully reconciled and approved by the British Council.
