0. Which groups or activities are eligible for funding?

1. What funding is available for a link?

You can apply for a grant of any sum between a minimum of £2,000 and a maximum of £10,000, which has to be spent during the specified activity period for the application round for which you are applying.

2. Can we register if we are not involved in a link?

In order to register your link and be able to receive funding and other support you will need to have identified a group in an eligible developing country to link with. Global Community Links cannot help you to find a group.

However you may still sign up for our newsletter so that you receive news about the programme whilst you are looking for a group.

UKOWLA have some great resources to help you find a link group and to help you get your link started, have a look on their website: www.ukowla.org.uk.

3. How do we get involved?

The first step is to register your link. Once you have done this you can then book a place on an activation and inspiration workshop which will help you get started.

After attending the workshop you’ll then be able to apply for funding to turn your ideas into reality.

4. What do links do?

Links are an ongoing relationship between two groups, one in the UK and one in a developing country that regularly communicate and develop activities that have mutual benefit for both the groups involved.

Global Community Links provides support to help links run global learning events which help link members and the wider community learn more about global development issues including the Millennium Development Goals. 

5. Who is eligible to be part of the Global Community Links programme?

UK based community groups who are linked with a community group in a developing country. The list of eligible countries can be found below. Please read the grants criteria for more information.

 

6. What is Global Community Links?

Global Community Links is a new programme, funded by UKaid from DFID and delivered by a Consortium of the British Council, iCoCo, The Interfaith Network for the UK and VSO.

Global Community Links aims to help links increase the involvement of UK community members in international development. The programme aims to increase understanding of global development issues, and offers funding and support to community groups in the UK that have a link with a community group in a developing country.
