Consultancy Opportunities
DFID requires specialised professional consultants to help deliver its development objectives.
The task of selecting consultants, issuing invitations to take part in
competitions, and negotiating contracts, is carried out by DFID's
Contracts Branch. Contracts Branch maintains a Consultants
Database of those who may be suitable for work in development
activities or interventions. Information from the database is passed onto
the Department's professional advisers when recruitment opportunities
arise. Consultants may also be recruited through advertisements.

- Details of contracts awarded for the latest month available, and those let in the current financial year, can be found here.
Trade and investment opportunities
DFID's Contracts Branch contracts for the services of organisations, as
well as for self-employed consultants. DFID's Procurement Policy Unit
offers advice on procurement for international development activity.
The 1997 White Paper on International Development committed the UK
Government to make available information about trade and investment
opportunities in developing countries. The 'In the Pipeline' report is
produced every quarter and lists all activities with a DFID input value of
over £250,000 currently under consideration.[List not supplied]
