  • Examine a hypothesis critically and provide evidence to support or disprove it.
  • Understand the different features of glacial erosion.
  • Student Worksheet 3a-4c
  • Slides

4. Mystery Exercise - Duration 15 mins

Episode

Learning Objectives

Resources

  • Students study a U shaped glacial valley and use numeracy skills to determine the length of time it will take a group of Royal Marines to climb it, calculate their angle of climb and give the exact time an RAF Search and Rescue team will need to arrive to pick them up.
  • Students consider the importance of maintaining levels of training for the Armed Forces.
  • Understand the Armed Forces' use of Britain's landscape to aid training.
  • Practice numeracy skills.
