4. Mystery Exercise

Delivery

• Explain that students are going to carry out a mystery exercise. Read through the situation outlined on Student Worksheet 5 as a class.
• Explain that students are to use the map to calculate the answers to the questions. Students should work in pairs.
• Discuss the answers to the questions as a class.
• Conduct a discussion around why it is important that the MOD invests so much time and money in training, like that shown in the class exercise, for their military personnel.
• Display Slides 24-25 which contain images showing members of the RAF Search and Rescue team undertaking training.
