Conflict and cooperation
2: Resolving conflicts
Required Resources
- Slide 8
Delivery
- After identifying the stages of conflict, ask students to feedback on how their conflict was resolved. Students should give examples of both successful and unsuccessful attempts. Record students' feedback on the board to formulate a list of ways to resolve conflict.
- Use Slide 8 to explain that mediators and arbitrators are good ways for resolving conflict but only when the parties involved are willing to compromise.
- Ask students to identify conflicts in which the UK has been or is involved in today. If students are able, they could outline the conflict and its current state of resolution. Record on a mind map.
