5. Plenary: Changing fashions

Delivery

  • Summarise learning by acknowledging that products change for a number of factors. To end the class with a light exercise, highlight that change in consumer tastes and fashions has had a huge influence on civilian clothes. Then project Slides 31 which show images of distinct fashions from a range of eras. Ask students to suggest which eras they are from.

Differentiation

Lower Ability:

Identify era only.

Higher Ability:

Name the particular items/style i.e. the "new look" 1940/50's, mini skirt from the 1960's.
