3: For and against
Required Resources
- Student Worksheet 3
Delivery
- Split the students into two large groups representing the different potential outcomes of the Battle of Britain and World War 2 (namely democratic British rule or Nazi imposed one-party state).
- Each side should discuss how their outcome would impact on freedom and social justice. They should use the discussion guide on Student Worksheet 3 to help them prepare.
- After the two groups have had five minutes to discuss amongst themselves a structured discussion should ensue between the two groups.
- Note down the responses on the board.
Differentiation
Lower Ability:
Ensure that the two groups are of mixed ability in order to ensure a balanced debate.
Higher Ability:
Ensure that the two groups are of mixed ability in order to ensure a balanced debate.
