6. Peer assessment

Delivery
- Explain marking focus and that the finished pieces should be technically accurate (spelling, punctuation and grammar), clearly structured and use a range of details and techniques to create an effect on the reader. Use the mark scheme to assist.
- Students should swap work and grade their partner's work. Once complete, they should give three tips to their partner to help them improve their writing.
- Finish the class by playing the Audio which features Polly talking about her feelings upon reaching the South Pole.
Differentiation
Lower Ability:
Students identify pros and cons for their partner's work.
Higher Ability:
Students mark lower ability students' work.
