Delivery

  • Conclude the lesson by asking students to recap the problems faced by the British Government in ending slavery. Students should consider the global prevalence and profitability of the trade and consider the type of force that would be needed to suppress this.
  • Introduce (in brief) the work of the Royal Navy and explain that the next lesson will look at how the Royal Navy played a pivotal role in putting an end to the trade.
