Ecosystems, farming & migration
2: Wetlands as an ecosystem and their impact on human life
Required Resources
- Slide 6
- Student Worksheet 2
Delivery
- Student Worksheet 2 features a number of statements about wetlands. Ask students to work in pairs to decide whether they agree with each statement. If they believe a statement to be true, they are to match one or two of the given 'reasons' to the statement. All the statements are in fact true, and are intended to demonstrate the significance of wetlands as an ecosystem to students.
- You may like to run this as an out of seat activity, forming an opinion line across the classroom and asking students to stand in different areas depending on whether they agree or disagree with statements.
Differentiation
Higher Ability:
If students complete the activity before others, you may like to ask them to list as many other kinds of ecosystem as they can think of.
