Writing to imagine

Tsunami South East Asia

Synopsis

In this lesson students write to imagine using the 2004 South East Asia tsunami as inspiration. Students are given context through photography and news reports and asked to analyse an extract from a fictional novel, based on the events during and after the tsunami before writing their own piece of prose, developing their skills of writing to imagine. Supporting Worksheets provide notes to guide students through this process.
