Reasoning and proof

Russian Priz submersible rescue

Synopsis

This lesson provides students with a memorable context for learning. Presented with events 'as they happen', students respond to a series of challenges, requiring them to interpret and create a variety of graphs, concerning the air supply remaining in the submarine, timing and other critical aspects of the rescue effort. Tasks are progressive with the final one being multi-stage. Numerous extension opportunities permit debate about the importance of international relations, the nature of teamwork and the role of the MOD.
