General Access Opportunities

This section provides more information on the general access opportunities across the MOD estate (only available on this website). It is divided into regions, with information given on locations and site descriptions, access opportunities and who to contact for further information.

Some areas of the estate may be available for public access under CROW and LR(S)A. For details of open access opportunities see Countryside Agency (CA), Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) and Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) websites.

MOD sites where there are significant access opportunities may be shown with this managed access symbol on websites and on OS maps. Select a region to view these and other access opportunities. Other areas may have open access. These are shown on the usual CA and CCW websites.

Select a region to find out more information on MOD sites in your area.

Note: Only general information is given on the access opportunities, without any detail on the grading of the paths or suitability for different users. Where required, such information should be requested from the specific contacts given for the individual site.
