Jo Turner
Head of International Arts

Jo Turner looks after DCMS policy matters for Culture Online. Within Arts Division in the Department, she is head of Arts Online and International, providing a link between Culture Online, the DCMS and wider Government. Digitising the cultural heritage is one of the themes of the UK's Presidency of the European Union in the second half of 2005, and Jo's team has set up a Working Group to look at priorities for European co-operation. She has worked for DCMS since 1993 looking after policies concerning sport and young people, widening access to museums (including the introduction of free admission), and broadcasting. She has worked as Private Secretary to Ministers dealing with Sport, Broadcasting and Tourism.

Jo has a degree in History, and was previously a curator at the Imperial War Museum dealing with photograph collections and has published work for the IWM about the contribution made by ethnic minority forces.
