Who we are

Dominic Tinley
Development Producer

 

Dominic is a new media producer specialising in project management and content development for emerging technology platforms.

After a degree in media production, Dominic joined the BBC in 1997 as webmaster of a new online education service - which is now one of the largest education websites in the UK - BBC Learning. He went on to produce the web element of the award-winning Key Stage 2 ReviseWise.

In 2000, Dominic became Managing Editor of Channel Four's education website for children and teachers, where he commissioned sites for pre-school, primary and secondary audiences, including The Hoobs, and Citizen Power, which won a BIMA award in 2002.

Since then, Dominic has been a freelance producer and consultant. He developed a broadband pilot for BBC Schools programmes and a broadband service for Discovery Channel in the UK. He was Project Manager for the BBC's innovative cross-media entertainment format FightBox. Most recently, he has been researching location-specific content on handheld computers for BBC Factual and Learning.

Dominic is a qualified sailing instructor and has sailed across the Atlantic three times in a small yacht.
