Catherine Mitchell
Communications and Events Producer

Catherine joined Culture Online from the BBC, where she spent five years producing social action campaigns to run across the BBC's network of 40 local radio stations. Most recently, she headed the three-year 'Ring Around Carers' project. Her responsibilities included setting out the concept and framework of campaigns, spearheading conferences and events, as well as maintaining strong relationships with external partners. She also edited a BBC magazine for carers with a 20,000 print run. She co-ordinated other series ranging in subject matter from domestic violence, debt and parenting to a campaign which reunited World War Two veterans who had lost touch.

For ten years, Catherine worked in radio news and features as a reporter, presenter and producer.

Catherine believes in the enlightening, therapeutic and transcendent value of artistic experience and, if granted steady hands, she would rather be a potter than a surgeon in her next life.
