Anyone who provides a service to the public, whether they charge for it or not, has duties under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
In January 2010 we launched Accessible tourism: Making it work for your business which sets out the business case for accessible tourism and the economic potential in providing better services for disabled people.
Stakeholders Forum
We set up the Accessible Tourism Stakeholders Forum in April 2008 to help achieve
- improved access
- better and more accurate information provision
- improved disability awareness training for staff and managers.
Forum members represent

- partner organisations
- visitor accommodation
- visitor attractions
- passenger transport
- the hospitality industry
- disability charities and organisations, including
The forum is closely connected to the Government Olympic Executive. It has links with London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Olympic Delivery Authority. We fully support the Government’s framework for a legacy for disabled people.
Quarterly newsletter
The forum produces a quarterly newsletter.
