Following the Indian Ocean tsunami of 26 December 2004, we worked with the British Red Cross to develop the Tsunami Support Network.

Many departments, agencies and other organisations were involved during the response to the tsunami and in its aftermath.
In November 2006, the National Audit Office (NAO) published its review of the experiences of United Kingdom nationals affected by the Indian Ocean tsunami.
We are already acting on many of the recommendations made in the report and have agreed to produce a full progress report within six months.
The NAO review of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office response to the tsunami was published on the FCO website in November 2005.
