digital britain review

Stephen Carter announced the launch of the Digital Britain Review on 17 October 2008. It is a converged project representing the Minister's responsibilities across both DCMS and BERR.

The terms of reference  were set out in a press release dated 17 October.

The Digital Britain Report is being developed in consultation with stakeholders and guided by a steering board whose members were announced on the 7 November.

The Government will publish the final report in late spring.

Stephen Carter discussed Digital Britain in his maiden speech in the House of Lords, replying to the Communications Committee report on Ownership of the News. A link to the debate and response is provided.

He has also given speeches to the Ofcom international conference and the Westminster Media Forum which have further expanded on some of the issues faced in the Digital Britain Review.
