Revisions to Guidance issued under section 182 of the Licensing Act 2003 (Minor Variations and Removing the Requirement for a DPS)
Supplementary s.182 Guidance has been issued on:
- a simplified process for minor variations to premises licences and club premises certificates and;
- the application process for the removal of the requirement for a designated premises supervisor and personal licence at community premises.
The following revision to the Guidance issued under s.182 of the Licensing Act 2003 was laid before Parliament on 9 July. The new process to make Minor Variations to licences and certificates and the new processes for community premises to apply to remove the requirement for a designated premises supervisor, are due to come into force on the 29 July 2009. A consolidated text of the Guidance will be available shortly.
Minor Variations
The Minor Variations process is designed to allow licensees to make small changes to their licences more quickly and cheaply
Removing the requirement for a designated premises supervisor and personal licence at a community premises.
This allows the management committee of village halls, church halls, chapel halls, community halls and similar community premises to apply to be collectively responsible for the supervision of alcohol sales instead of a designated person with a personal licence
