visitor attractions

The UK's attractions are at the very heart of the tourism industry, with the top twenty major paid attractions accounting for 45 million visits alone in 2003.

Attractions act as a major draw for visitors, generating income for local and regional economies and for other sectors such as hospitality, transport, retail, etc.

The UK has almost 6,500 visitor attractions, including country parks and farms, historic properties, theme parks, zoos, gardens, museums and galleries, and places of worship. They offer a wealth of unique experiences for international and domestic visitors alike.

We work in partnership with the attractions sector to improve and enhance the quality of its product; to develop the skills base of those working in the sector; to generate better data for analysis and decision-making; and to promote and market UK visitor attractions domestically and internationally.
