best possible sport

We are keen to ensure the highest possible standards for sport in this country, and to re-establish the UK as a powerhouse in the sporting world.

We are committed to helping raise the profile and performance of UK sport across the world by identifying, coaching and funding talented athletes. We work with UK Sport and Sport England to develop world-class competitors.

Sports medicine and science initiatives support our top sportsmen and women, and UK sport as a whole.

We work with a number of independent organisations to ensure that standards in sport remain high. Our policies actively support the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) and its World Anti-Doping Code, which sets the basis for the global fight against doping in sport.

We are also committed to supporting viable bids to host major and mega sporting events in the UK – such as the Olympic Games and World Cup. These give the UK the potential to boost the development of sport, win medals and international success and improve the image and influence of UK sport worldwide.
