Who is eligible to apply for the Government Indemnity Scheme?

All museums funded by Government, Local Authority or university as well as some museums and galleries which are run by a charitable trust. Any applicant who has not previously used the scheme will be inspected to ensure that their security arrangements are adequate and that the environmental conditions in their gallery are suitable.

The permanent collections of galleries and museums cannot be granted indemnity, only loans into collections are eligible. Commercial galleries are not eligible.
