DCMS has recently assumed joint responsibility with the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) for the sponsorship of the publishing industry.
We will be working closely with BERR and key industry contacts to identify the industry’s concerns, so that we can jointly develop appropriate strategies to assist where appropriate.
As part of our Creative Economy Programme, we are planning to hold a Ministerial Publishing Summit on 4 September 2006, to enable the industry to make its input into the Programme’s developing outcomes.
