  • The DCMS Guide to Arts Funding in England (PDF 590kb) helps artists and arts organisations to understand the various sources of arts funding and identify specific funding opportunities. Free to download from this website.
  • The Arts Funding Guide by Susan Forrester and David Lloyd, Pub., DSC, 6th edition 2002.  It is a very useful guide for artists and arts organisations. It is available to buy from the Directory of Social Change

  • Artquest provides advice and support to London’s visual artists and craftspeople. 

They can help with everything from marketing to funding. The UK Arts Map, is a useful diagram showing how arts funding operates in the UK.

  • The Charity Commission is the statutory organisation that regulates charities and helps them to work effectively. Its services include providing booklets on attaining charitable status and offering advice about fundraising regulations.
  • The Directory of Social Change (DSC) is a registered charity, providing information and training to the UK voluntary sector.  It publishes an extensive range of funding guides and handbooks.
  • Funderfinder is a registered charity that produces software to help individuals and not-for-profit organisations to source funding opportunities.
  • Voluntary Arts Network (VAN) is an umbrella organisation that works with policy makers, funders and politicians to increase participation in the arts across the UK, Republic of Ireland and Europe.
