Inspire programme

The Inspire programme  is an innovative way of encouraging local and regional communities to be part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The programme recognises participative projects and events that are inspired by the Games and contribute to their legacy.Inspire programme, Inspire Mark TM

Projects and events that are part of the programme are officially recognised and have access to the , the non-commercial 2012 brand.  Projects will also receive communications and networking support to help them raise publicity and drive participation.

The Programme recognises projects contributing to the following legacy areas:

  • Sport
  • Culture
  • Education
  • Sustainability
  • Volunteering
  • Business opportunities and skills

As of December 2009, over 300 projects from various bodies, including local authorities and regional and national cultural organisations have been recognised. These include:

  • Artists Taking the Lead
  • Personal Best
  • Free Swimming.
