DCMS science and research advisory committee

The SRAC is a committee of science experts that has been set up to work with Anita Charlesworth, DCMS’s Chief Analyst and Chief Scientific Adviser, to advise DCMS on developments in science and technology and their implications for DCMS policies and priorities.

DCMS needs the SRAC to:

  • provide Ministers, senior DCMS officials and, through the DCMS Advisory board, the Department’s sponsored bodies with advice on the implications of developments in science and technology for the Department’s policies and priorities;
  • identify the potential impact of wider government policy on science in the DCMS sectors
  • identify generic scientific issues which will have an impact across several DCMS sectors and share practice.
