A Place for Culture: Developing a local culture offer for all children and young people
In this document we set out how far we have come towards realising our vision that all children, no matter where they live or what their background, should have the opportunity to enjoy high quality cultural experiences in and out of school.
Findings from Find Your Talent pathfinders have shown us what can be achieved when schools, local authorities and cultural organisations work together to shape and coordinate an offer which is relevant to local needs and is shaped by the views of those who matter most; children and young people themselves. We are now strengthening the message to those agencies, most notably through the Pupil Guarantee but also through strengthened guidance to Children’s Trusts and those involved in delivering cultural opportunities in Extended Services and Positive Activities for young people.
We are also signalling the ways in which we will continue to support this agenda at national level and continue the drive for greater coherence among the key agencies responsible for delivery.
