The London 2012 Equality and Diversity Forum

The London 2012 Equality and Diversity Forum (‘The Forum’) has been established as the primary vehicle through which the main Olympic bodies and stakeholder organisations are able to work jointly to champion and monitor progress made to deliver national and regional equality commitments for the Games.

The Forum consists of senior representatives from the main organisations responsible for delivering the Games and its legacy:

  • The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), which is the public body responsible for building the venues and infrastructure for the Games.
  • The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, which is responsible for planning and staging the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • The Greater London Authority, which is responsible for ensuring the Games leaves a lasting and positive legacy for Londoners.
  • The London Development Agency, which is the Regional Development Agency for London and is helping Londoners to benefit from the many potential long-term Olympic legacy opportunities.
  • The UK Government, represented by the Government Olympic Executive (GOE), which established the ODA and leads a cross-departmental programme to ensure a lasting legacy for the UK.
  • The Equality and Human Rights Commission also sits on the Forum as a ‘critical friend’.

On 7 December 2009 The Forum published the first in a series of annual reports.  The report aims to establish some key indicators of success across the 2012 programme and will be the one place where London 2012 can report on its annual collective achievements around equality, diversity and inclusion and on how it aims to meet the challenges ahead.
