Playing to win: A new era for sport
This is a new era of unprecedented opportunity for the development of both sport and physical activity in England. Physical activity by its nature is a cross-Government responsibility and a range of Departments are leading on creating more opportunities to get physically active.
Our reforms of sport are set against this backdrop of the Government’s drive to raise levels of physical activity. Offering free swimming for those over 60 and under 16 is a key component of our physical activity plans and is a signal of the raised level of our ambitions.
