Time for Play
112/06
Culture Minister David Lammy launched the publication on children's play, 'Time for Play, encouraging greater play opportunities for children and young people' at Evergreen Adventure playground, Hackney today.
At the launch, David Lammy said:
“We all agree on the value of children's play. Play is higher on the national agenda than ever before and I'm delighted that we have produced a publication all about what government is doing to encourage play opportunities. I hope that with the publication of “Time for play” people will recognise that government really is serious about play and that cross departmental work on play is a reality.”
The publication sets out what government is doing on play, and discusses recent changes in the delivery of children's services, and what these changes mean for the play sector. The publication has been produced by DCMS with the assistance of all government departments with an interest in children's play, and a number of other organizations.
