Culture department announce three year funding deals for sponsored bodies in heritage and architecture sectors

Funding plans for a number of bodies sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport were announced by the department.
Total investment (capital together with resource) for English Heritage will rise from £128.7 million next year to £135.1 million in 2010\11, while the Government’s contribution to the National Heritage Memorial Fund will remain at £10 million a year across the period.

1. This news release supplements the announcement made last year concerning English Heritage’s resource allocation announced on 18 October 2007 (DCMS News Release 118\2007)
2. Under the Listed Places of Worship and Memorials Grant Schemes, the Department continues to make grants equivalent to the VAT incurred in repairing churches, and in establishing or repairing memorials. In 2006/7, around £14 million benefited historic church buildings, while over £500,000 helped to build and maintain memorials'
3. The allocation for the Royal Household of £16.107 million a year is made up of £15 million to Property Services for the maintenance of the Occupied Royal Palaces in England, £520,000 for Royal Communications and Information, and £587,000 for the maintenance of Marlborough House.
