Filling Vacancies
Ministerial appointments to the boards of DCMS public bodies fall into two main categories, to which different OCPA (Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments) procedures apply:
- Upper tier appointments – these are posts which offer remuneration of £5,000 or more or where annual grant-in-aid to the public body exceeds £10m. They are the Department's most high-profile posts, and we hold interviews for them.

- Lower tier appointments –OCPA these are posts which offer remuneration less than £5,000 and grant-in-aid to the body is less than £10m. Interviews are not required for low profile, lower tier posts; the final selection of appointable candidates is carried out by an advisory (paper) panel.
