Film
The UK Film Council is responsible for developing film industry and culture in the UK and currently gets 2% of new National Lottery income plus investment returns on its balance. In 2004-05 this amounted to approximately £27.6 million.

The UK Film Council administers the following National Lottery funds:
The Film Development Fund, with a budget of £4 million a year to support the development of high quality, innovative and commercially attractive screenplays;
The Premiere Production Fund, with a budget of £8 million a year to produce British films;
Distribution and Exhibition. £8 million a year is committed to supporting the distribution and exhibition of specialised film in the UK;
The New Cinema Fund, with a budget of £5 million a year to back radical and cutting-edge filmmakers, particularly new talent, and to explore new electronic production technologies;
The Film Skills Fund, with a budget of £6.1 million a year, is administered by Skillset (the Sector Skills Council for the audio-visual industries) to support A Bigger Future, the UK Film Skills Strategy;
"First Light" a programme with a budget of £1 million for low budget short films offering children the opportunity to learn about film-making and display their talents; and
Film Publications Fund, with a budget of £100,000 to support print and online film-related publications aimed at the general public or sectors of the film industry;
The Regional Investment Fund provides £3.2million of National Lottery funding a year, through regional screen agencies exhibition, for production, education, training and screen commission work in the regions.
Separately funded National Lottery programmes in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland through partner organisations Sgrîn Cymru Wales, Scottish Screen and the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission have complemented UK Film Council programmes.
