Introduction

At the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, we know from talking to creative businesses that raising finance can be a problem. This is because most high street banks tend to perceive them – unfairly - as a ‘high risk’, possibly because they rely on intellectual property rather than fixed tangible assets. But there are alternatives to the traditional debt finance offered by the Banks.

This ‘money map’ attempts to list funding schemes that might be open to creative businesses. We’ve also listed the funding schemes that are exclusive to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the English regions.

We aim to update this site regularly and welcome your feedback and details of other funding schemes you may be aware of. We hope you will find it of use and will recommend it to your contacts.
