Statistics
The primary role of DCMS Statistics Branch is to provide analytical information and advice in support of the Department's work programmes.
Additionally the work of the branch includes:
- producing a set of statistics outputs
- playing a leading role in development and coordination of statistical work, through for example frameworks and guidance
- working closely with other organizations on the development of statistics and management of surveys
- representing UK statistical interests internationally, for example in setting of standards and requirements
The branch is part of the Government Statistical Service and as such follows and promotes the National Statistics Code of Practice.
