Summary of Responses and Conclusions: Consultation on the Composition of an Advisory Committee on National Historic Ships
DCMS held a consultation from 7 November-16 December 2005, to elicit views on proposals relating to the composition of the new Advisory Committee on National Historic Ships, and the role specifications for the Chair and members. The response, published today, contains a summary of the comments made by respondents, and the conclusions arrived at, including role specifications for the Chairman and members of the Committee.
We will commence the procedure for appointing the Chairman of the new Committee on 25 January 06, by posting the role specification on the DCMS and Cabinet Office Public Appointments web sites for three weeks, and circulating it to bodies with an interest in the sector, and the specialist press.
The appointment of members will follow, with notices being posted in the same sources on 22 February 06. Any enquiries about appointments to the Committee may be addressed to Mark Greenwood in the Public Appointments Unit of DCMS (tel: 020 7211 2311, e-mail: mark.greenwood@culture.gsi.gov.uk).
