British Film Certificates

DCMS issues two types of certificates in respect of film:

a) by satisfying the specific provisions of Schedule 1; (See Film Certification: Schedule 1);

 

Please note if your film began principal photography on or after 1st April 2006 you should apply using the revised Schedule 1 which introduces a new Cultural Test for British films. See link below.

 

b) by satisfying the 

Revised Schedule 1 including Cultural Test (The Films (Definition of a British Film) Order 2006);

 

c) by satisfying the terms of one of the UK's co-production treaties. See co-production agreements.
