Export policy

DCMS and UK Trade & Investment along with other partners in Government, are supporting the work of three industry led export groups who are helping to develop the Government strategy for the export of goods and services from the Creative Industries sector.

The three industry export groups bring together a unique combination of public sector, private sector and trade bodies, to advise and assist in the work of enhancing the export performance of our creative industries:

Membership of these Groups is voluntary.

UK Trade & Investment and the British Council have launched a web-site, http://www.creativexport.co.uk/ aimed at providing information for creative businesses wanting to enter into international trade.

Design Partners and the Creative Exports Group aim to increase the level of international trade for creative businesses by co-ordinating the activities of industry bodies and government agencies and departments. They develop policies, programmes and activities – specifically focused on the creative industries - to help Government help new and established exporters to develop overseas trade capability and new opportunities abroad.

Design Partners and Creative Exports Group are jointly managed by UK Trade & Investment and the Department for Culture, Media & Sport. Design Partners is chaired by Andrew Summers and the Creative Exports Group is chaired by Andrew Yeates. Christine Losecaat is Creative Industries Adviser to both groups.
