Creative Economy Programme
The Creative Economy Programme is the first step in achieving our goal of making the UK the world's creative hub. The Programme focuses on seven issues that are the key drivers of productivity in the creative industries. We have created groups for each of these seven issues drawing on expertise from across the DCMS family of non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs), other Government Departments, the Government Offices for the regions and other stakeholders.
These groups are;
The aim of these groups is to push forward policy development on their particular issue and to examine the consistency of current Government sponsored projects in the respective area.
There is also a parallel programme of industry consultation. The consultation focuses on both the work of the programme and the individual creative industry sectors ensuring that the Creative Industries themselves can influence future Government support.
The Creative Economy Programme website contains the latest information on all of the Programme's work. All those with an interest in the Creative Industries are welcome to review and comment on the progress made so far.
