9 February
Summary of shortlisted Large and Small Representations have now been published.

30 January
Casino Advisory Panel today issued its final report, including its recommendations to Tessa Jowell, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, on her order making powers under Section 175(4) of the Gambling Act 2005 to determine the areas where the one regional casino, and eight large and eight small casinos permitted by the Act should be located.

Final Stage of the Evaluation Process
Details of how the Panel are undertaking the final stage of its evaluation is now available online.

28 November
Panel publishes commissioned research
Research commissioned by the Panel from Miss Karen Lee, a research student from the Cardiff School of City, is now available for viewing online under the 'Reports Section'.

There also follows a foreword from Professor Crow on the use the Panel has put the research to. The foreword explains what the Panel had intended the research would be used for - namely a library search of research material in the field of social impact and regeneration to assist it in the scoping phase of its work. It goes on to make it clear, however, that the research was not received in time for the Panel to use it for this purpose and that, although it subsequently contributed to the background information available to it, the Panel did not rely upon it in reaching its conclusions.

Panel announces issue date for Final Report
The Panel has announced that it will be making its recommendations on where the regional casino - and the eight large and eight small casinos - should be located to the Secretary of State on Tuesday 30 January 2007. It will issue its Final Report, containing the recommendations, at the same time

17 November
The opportunity for making representations to the Panel is now closed.

27 October
The Panel have published the responses received following additional questions issued to the authorities shortlisted for the Large and Small casinos.

The outstanding minutes from the Panel's meetings, up until the meeting of 29 August, can now be found at the Panel Minutes page of the website

• Progress Report
  The Casino Advisory Panel Chair's latest progress report to the Secretary of State, dated 10 October 2006, can be found in the "Report" section of this site.

• Panel's Final Report to be published by end of January 2007
  The Casino Advisory Panel has confirmed that it will publish its Final Report and Recommendations. In order to allow for printing and publication, the Report will be published and issued by the end of January 2007.
