DCMS goals for the arts
The Department sets goals for the arts, and agrees these with Arts Council England in its Funding Agreement.
Arts Council England has to show that it is working to fulfil the Government's goals for the arts. An example is the Public Service Agreement targets for communities, where the following target has been set:
- to increase significantly take up of cultural and sporty opportunities by new users age 20 and above from priority groups.
The Department also expects Arts Council England to distribute Lottery funds in line with Financial and Policy Directions.
