Visiting Arts
Visiting Arts works to encourage the presentation in the UK of contemporary arts from countries across the world, to extend dialogue between UK artists and arts practitioners and their overseas counterparts and to promote positive cultural relations. DCMS works closely with Visiting Arts to ensure that our aims are integrated into their work.
The rich diversity of UK culture is enhanced and encouraged by the many wonderful artists that visit the UK from abroad. As part of an international community Visiting Arts aims to:
- Promote a modern and diverse image of the UK arts today
- Challenge negative stereotyping
- Improve understanding of different cultures within the UK
- Invigorate the UK arts scene
- Demonstrate the UK's openness to learning from overseas
