South Asia earthquake
Many families in the UK will be deeply affected by the loss of relatives following the devastating earthquake in Pakistan on 8 October 2005.
The Assistance Centre, set up to support those bereaved and injured during the attacks on London in July, has agreed to offer its support services to any families affected by the earthquake. They are able to provide a sophisticated signposting and advice service on local support services in those areas whose communities are likely to have been significantly affected. The Assistance Centre can be contacted 24 hours a day on 0845 054 7444.
We are working with other Government departments to scope the possible longer-term assistance required for UK residents who have lost relatives and friends.
