2. NS compliance statements overview

The National Statistics (NS) Code of Practice and its 12 supporting Protocols require publication of a number of statements of practice.
Some of DCMS's statistics are designated as National Statistics. This means that they are produced in accordance with:
 
  1. The arrangements set out in the  Framework for National Statistics
  2. The principles set out in the National Statistics Code of Practice, Statement of Principles
  3. Its 12 supporting Protocols
  4. The following compliance statements and policies, to which the Protocols refer:

DCMS also produces some statistics which are not classed as National Statistics. The Department nevertheless seeks to follow the same best practice for these. A catalogue of DCMS data products can be found on the National Statistics Products page.
