Better Public Buildings

Better Public Buildings advocates a step change in the quality of building design in the public sector; Ministers and Departments across government will be working towards achieving this.

The document demonstrates that good design provides many benefits and is not a costly luxury. It is, of course, equally important that clients should adopt an efficient procurement process in order to obtain best value for money at all stages of a project. Good design and good process are not incompatible; both are needed in a well-run project.
Better Public Buildings has been disseminated widely to all those with an interest in, or responsibility for, the quality of building design.
