Consultation on permanent memorial for the victims of the London bombings.

The Government is committed to creating a fitting permanent memorial to those who lost their lives in 7th July attacks on London, and so we are consulting with the bereaved families.

The consultation will also consider whether this memorial could have a wider national significance.  The consultation with bereaved families closes on 31 March - however, this is not a fixed deadline; we will welcome their thoughts and contributions throughout the process.

As the Chancellor has today announced, Government will contribute to the costs of this memorial and are looking, as we did with 9/11, at the potential for receiving donations from the corporate sector and public subscription.
